Residence
- You have lived within the state where you are applying for at least three months prior to filing the application.
- You have resided continuously in the United States as a lawful permanent resident for at least three years immediately before filing the application.
- You resided continuously within the United States from the date of the application until the time of naturalization.
- You were physically present in the United States for at least 18 months out of the three years immediately before filing the application.
Education and character
- You are able to read, write, and speak English and have an understanding of US history and government.
- You have good moral character and are willing to support and defend the United States and its Constitution.
